In the Skyward wind tunnel, you're an athlete even if you decide to come back to fly every now and then, but on a regular basis. You bet, because wind tunnel flying is a complex sport that moves everything you've got! That's why it's now a sport in its own right, represented by young and old alike all over the world. If you feel that you have found the ideal sport and form of exercise at Skyward, call our colleagues, contact an instructor and come fly, even weekly!
As a sport flyer, the minimum bookable flight time is 15 minutes, which you can fly with the instructor in 30 minutes. There's a reason why it's so short, with usually 10 rounds, you'll review your movements with the instructor on the windscreen after each round so you can immediately perfect your flight for the next round. Believe me, as an athlete with excellent endurance, you'll feel the effects of these workouts, of which you can of course fly up to 30 minutes - in an hour. If more than one of you come to fly, you'll take it in turns to fly the time, so the two of you will fly 15 minutes twice in half an hour. The wind does not stop, only you, while one of you flies and you communicate with the instructor. That is why, if you come in more than one group, you cannot choose the same instructor for the same shift, because you will not have time for both of you. All our instructors are great! Try them out to see who suits you best!
Our sports packages are only available if you've been here and flown at least once before!
The Tunnell is 4 metres in diameter and 9 metres high, with a maximum wind speed of 210 km/h. It is suitable for dynamic head down flight, but not for static head down flight.
We have hosted almost every skydiving team in the country! Most of them train regularly at Skyward, as it's so much easier without jumping out of a plane. They don't just come to train with us, we hold competitions regularly! We have skydiving teams and parachutists from all over the world, you can meet exciting and interesting people during our opening hours, almost anytime.
