What else can we say but that the Skyward Wind Tunnel is a dream project and a dream job! There isn't a colleague of ours who hasn't started working for us out of passion, and that leaves its mark on the way our channel works.
When there were no wind tunnels in Hungary, some skydivers had the dream and desire not to have to travel abroad for a little floating. They invented, calculated, planned and, thanks to years of work, created the country's first and so far only freefall simulator!
Every year, around a thousand people experience the thrill of flying. We welcome young and old, hobby hoverers and professional athletes from all over the world.
And don't think flying is just an adrenaline rush! There are many health benefits you wouldn't think of! It's not just preventative exercise in the wind (to improve coordination skills, concentration and stamina, or to get the brain in perfect alignment with the body's control)! For people with musculoskeletal problems, wind tunnel therapy has been used abroad for specific improvements and new options, and its effectiveness has been confirmed by numerous scientific studies.
In recent years, despite the fact that life in the world has not got any easier, we have continued to build and develop. We have become a real centre of experience, a place to come to and a place to go to, with fantastic experiences. At Skyward, we don't just impress our guests with the wind tunnel! Our rooftop terrace has a real ruin garden atmosphere, and our wellness area is not just a place to recharge after a flight. The wind tunnel and the associated complex of buildings and adventure centre are also suitable for larger events. We can accommodate conferences for up to 100 people with technical equipment, or live concert parties.
We are proud that we are not only a special little jewel of Csepel Művek, but that we have a unique programme and image throughout the country.
Our secret is not to provide a good programme for our guests - but what a good programme we have for everyone!!! The secret is that we believe in what we do and we all make Skyward our own. To keep renewing. Our speciality is that even when the wind isn't blowing, something is happening. Which we do with all our bodies and with genuine passion! You can be sure of that! But only if you experience it for yourself...
Mark Twain said to have a job you love to do and you'll never have to work again. Well, I never work! Flying is my default state. It's my dream that I make come true every day for others. In a wind tunnel, by parachute, by helicopter... Everything we create at Skyward is what we want to see in other places! And it works! Everyone leaves smiling!
At Skyward Wind Tunnel, we are all about getting as many people as possible to try and experience the thrill of free diving. It is particularly important to us that groups, communities and people from difficult backgrounds who may not have access to windsurfing are able to do so. That's why each year we select a different target group to whom we open the doors of the canal and offer free flights at an open day.
In recent years, we have welcomed disabled people, people in state care and children with long-term illnesses. The events are a lasting memory not only for our visitors but also for us. It has been a great pleasure to see young and old alike experience the exhilaration of flight in a whole new environment, outside their everyday constraints.
